At ITB Berlin 2026, Eurowings announced a new premium
product for its Airbus A320neo fleet, introducing a redesigned seating concept
on selected medium-haul routes. Following successful market tests, Germany’s
largest leisure airline will equip eight A320neo aircraft with premium seats,
offering more space, comfort and privacy in the front rows.
The new configuration replaces the traditional 2×3
seating layout in the first two rows with a more spacious 2×2 arrangement. This
creates eight Premium BIZ seats designed for passengers seeking additional
comfort on flights lasting between three and six hours. Eurowings primarily
deploys the A320neo on longer medium-haul routes.
More space and privacy on medium-haul flights
The new cabin concept builds on customer feedback
collected since November 2025, when Eurowings introduced the Premium BIZ seat
on the Berlin–Dubai route and tested the product on additional services.
According to the airline, travellers responded particularly positively to the
increased personal space, improved privacy and enhanced onboard service.
With demand proving strong, Eurowings has now approved
the expansion of the concept. In addition to longer leisure routes, the airline
is considering the introduction of the premium seating product on connections
to business destinations such as London as well as high-demand holiday routes
including Mallorca and the Canary Islands. All eight A320neo aircraft in the
fleet will be equipped with the new seats.
Product upgrade and expanded inflight service
“We are boldly changing an industry standard because
our guests’ expectations are changing as well,” says Max Kownatzki, CEO of
Eurowings. “The success of our market tests made it clear within just a few
months that many passengers on longer flights want a bit more space and
affordable comfort. With the introduction of the Premium BIZ seat, we are
emphasizing our role as Europe’s value airline, offering good service at fair
prices across all fare categories.”
The new seats come from Italian manufacturer Geven and
are part of a broader product upgrade. The Premium BIZ offer includes
adjustable footrests, USB charging ports, pillows and blankets, as well as an
amenity kit. Passengers also receive an upgraded inflight service with an
aperitif, a hot meal served on porcelain and an expanded beverage selection.
According to Eurowings, the initiative forms part of a
wider strategy to strengthen its positioning as a value airline by combining
competitive prices with improved comfort and service quality.
