Eurowings
is significantly expanding its range of attractive direct destinations from
BER: In summer 2025, travelers can choose from 42 attractive destinations with
Germany's largest vacation airline. In particular, the Lufthansa subsidiary is
expanding connections to popular vacation regions in southern Europe: for the
first time, Eurowings will be flying from BER to Bilbao, Corfu, Faro and
Jerez de la Frontera. New to the program is also Newcastle in the
northeast of England.
The
airline is also increasing its frequencies to existing destinations: Malaga,
Heraklion, Rhodes, Graz, Nice, Kos, Split, Yerevan and Erbil will
be served more frequently in future. Mallorca remains the top
destination in the BER program: Eurowings will be offering up to 21 flights a
week from BER to Germany's most popular vacation island.
Jens
Bischof, CEO Eurowings:
“Berlin
and Eurowings are a good match: we are delighted that we can not only continue
our growth story at BER, but even accelerate it. Following the very successful
expansion of our connections to the Gulf region, we are also strengthening our
presence in the capital in summer 2025 and, with over 200 weekly flights, are
offering our broadest European service to date. Our commitment is a clear
commitment to Berlin as an aviation location, with which we are expanding the
Lufthansa Group's market leadership in the capital.”
Aletta
von Massenbach, Chairwoman of the Management Board of Flughafen Berlin
Brandenburg GmbH:
“We
are very pleased about Eurowings commitment at BER. The airline will offer
travelers from the capital region a variety of new and attractive travel
options in Europe and beyond in the upcoming summer flight schedule. At the
same time, the expanded offer will improve the region's accessibility for
international guests and thus strengthen BER as an airport location, tourism
and the regional economy.
Burkhard
Kieker, Managing Director of visitBerlin:
“Eurowings
is a great and reliable partner for Berlin's Visitor Economy. The airline, the
airport and visitBerlin are working together to increase international flight
connections to the German capital - with success, as the significant growth
next year shows.” While the European program is growing strongly, Eurowings
will cut an average of one in ten flights to the domestic German destinations
of Düsseldorf, Cologne and Stuttgart. This is due to the sharp rise in
government charges and fees, which mean that flights within Germany are no
longer economically viable. However, Eurowings continues to link Berlin and
Brandenburg closely to the major conurbations in North Rhine-Westphalia and
southern Germany with demand-driven frequencies. The airline flies up to seven
times a day from BER to Stuttgart, up to six times to Cologne/Bonn and up to
five times to Düsseldorf.
