The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has welcomed
the announcement by LOT Polish Airlines confirming the launch of its first-ever
direct commercial flights between Warsaw and Bangkok. The new service is
scheduled to commence on 26 October 2026, marking a significant expansion of
air connectivity between Poland and Thailand.
Strategic expansion under Airline Focus strategy
The launch reflects coordinated efforts by TAT under
its Airline Focus strategy, in close collaboration with the Royal Thai Embassy
in Warsaw as well as public and private sector partners. The new route responds
to sustained growth in demand from the Polish market and further reinforces
Thailand’s position as a leading long-haul destination for European travellers.
Five weekly non-stop services
LOT Polish Airlines will operate the Warsaw–Bangkok
route five times per week, with flights scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays,
Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Flight LO65 will depart Warsaw in the
afternoon, while the return service, flight LO66, will operate from Bangkok in
the morning. Ticket sales are now open via the airline’s official distribution
channels.
First scheduled non-stop link between Poland and
Thailand
The year-round service represents the first scheduled
non-stop commercial air connection between Poland and Thailand. Until now,
travellers have relied on indirect services via Middle Eastern hubs or seasonal
charter flights. The new direct route is expected to significantly enhance
travel convenience, encourage longer stays and strengthen tourism and economic
ties between the two countries, while improving Thailand’s accessibility from
Central and Eastern Europe.
Strong demand from the Polish market
Thailand continues to be a highly popular destination
for Polish travellers, particularly for leisure travel. Coastal destinations
such as Phuket, Krabi and Ko Samui remain in high demand, alongside growing
interest in Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and Hua Hin. Polish visitors typically stay
an average of 14 days, with average spending of around 68,000 baht per trip.
Poland as a growing source market
Poland remains a strong-performing European source
market for Thailand. In 2024, Thailand welcomed 180,722 visitors from Poland,
generating tourism revenue of 11.68 billion baht. From 1 January to 15 December
2025, arrivals reached 213,511, representing year-on-year growth of 29.92 per
cent. Full-year arrivals for 2025 are projected at approximately 230,000, with
estimated tourism revenue of around 15.64 billion baht.
