Eurowings is stepping up its commitment to the capital region with a broad expansion of services at Berlin Brandenburg Airport. From summer 2026, the Lufthansa Group airline will connect BER with new European cities, increase frequencies on popular leisure routes and station two additional aircraft on site. With 43 destinations in 20 countries, Berlin travellers will have more choice than ever before.
Strong growth signal for the capital
In its role as “Capital Express”, Eurowings is adding London, Lisbon and Sarajevo to its route map. For the first time, Olbia, Naples and Kavala will also be served from BER. Frequencies to established favourites such as Mallorca, Split, Faro and Larnaca will rise noticeably.
Jens Bischof, CEO of Eurowings, says the current environment supports this expansion: “The measures adopted by the German Government are helping us to stabilise our range of flights to European destinations and, in some cases, to expand it. This is particularly evident in Berlin. With our new connections, we are strengthening our presence in the capital. We are making a deliberate investment in BER because we see the region’s potential and want to offer people in Berlin and Brandenburg an even more diverse European network.”
The significance of the move is also highlighted by BER: “We are delighted about the significant expansion of Eurowings' services at BER. With two additional aircraft stationed here, Eurowings is strengthening its clear commitment to the Berlin-Brandenburg capital region. This step underlines the attractiveness of the location and our close strategic partnership with the airline,“ says Aletta von Massenbach, Chair of the Executive Board of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH.
visitBerlin welcomes the added connectivity. “With these new destinations, Eurowings is sending a strong signal for improved connectivity in the capital. We particularly welcome the increased number of flights from European cities such as London, Lisbon and Bilbao,“ says Burkhard Kieker, CEO of visitBerlin.
More capacity, more choice
With two additional aircraft, the Eurowings fleet based in Berlin will grow from seven to nine aircraft. Up to twelve weekly flights will operate to London Heathrow, while Lisbon will be served up to three times per week. Sarajevo, Olbia and Naples will each receive up to two weekly services; Kavala will be included during the high season.
Holiday routes on the rise
Travellers can look forward to denser schedules on key leisure routes. Mallorca will see six extra weekly connections, Stockholm five, and Zurich and Split two each. Additional weekly flights will also be offered to Bilbao, Faro, Gothenburg, Helsinki and Larnaca.
