Condor expands baggage allowances and introduces uniform rules

Condor is revising its baggage regulations to offer clearer, more customer-friendly standards. The changes will be introduced in two stages, beginning with updated carry-on rules in May 2026, followed by expanded checked baggage allowances and a unified system across the entire route network from May 2027.

Larger carry-on allowances from May 2026

From May 1, 2026, passengers will benefit from increased dimensions for cabin baggage. The standard size for carry-on items will be set at 55 x 40 x 23 centimeters. In addition, the permitted size of the small personal item included in every fare will be expanded to 40 x 30 x 15 centimeters.

These adjustments aim to align Condor’s cabin baggage standards more closely with international norms and improve convenience for travellers.

Higher checked baggage allowances from 2027

A second phase of changes will take effect from May 1, 2027, introducing increased checked baggage allowances across all routes. In Economy Class, one piece of baggage weighing 23 kilograms will be included, replacing the previous 20-kilogram limit. In Premium Economy Class, the allowance will rise from 25 to 32 kilograms for one piece of baggage. In Business Class, passengers will be able to check in two pieces of baggage weighing 32 kilograms each, instead of the previous 30 kilograms per person.

The new rules will apply uniformly across the entire network, regardless of destination.

Simplification and better connectivity

“Through Condor’s ongoing development from a leisure airline to a network airline with its own city network and international partner airlines, aligning baggage policies with international standards represents the next logical step,” said Christian Schmitt. “The new baggage regulations provide guests with improved conditions and reduced complexity, particularly for connecting flights.”

By replacing destination-based rules with route-independent standards, Condor aims to increase transparency and simplify travel planning. Uniform regulations also make it easier to combine flights with partner airlines and improve reliability across the entire journey.

Passengers are expected to benefit from clearer processes at check-in, better comparability between fares and a more streamlined overall travel experience.
