Marmaris: A Favourite Destination for Tourists
Offering natural beauty, ancient history, blue sea and golden
sands, Marmaris provides travellers with all they need for a relaxing
summer holiday. Cleopatra Island, also known as Sedir Island,
attracts visitors who want to swim in refreshingly calm waters and observe
historical structures. Known for its golden sands and protected due to its
historical significance, Cleopatra Island also houses ancient sites such as
the Temple of Apollo, a theatre and a necropolis. Selimiye and Bozburun,
the two beach settlements of Marmaris, which also have a cruise terminal,

Köyceğiz: A Serene City
Located between Marmaris and Fethiye, Köyceğiz is a peaceful CittaSlow
City in Turkey. Boat tours on Köyceğiz Lake provide a fragrant experience with
orange flowers and sweetgum trees, and a chance to spot Caretta caretta sea
turtles in the Köyceğiz-Dalyan Special Environmental Protection Area. The
ancient city of Kaunos boasts remarkable rock tombs from the fourth century BC,
captivating visitors. Sandras Mountain, part of the beautiful Taurus Mountains
in the distinctive landscape of Köyceğiz, offers lovely trekking, camping, and
thrilling activities, including a mountain biking trail. Köyceğiz provides a
tranquil holiday experience while preserving its traditional way of life.
