Virgin
Limited Edition, Sir Richard Branson’s collection of award-winning hotels
and retreats, is thrilled to unveil an exclusive new experience connecting its
two Kenyan safari properties, Mahali
Mzuri and Finch
Hattons. With direct flights between the camps launching in June, this
offering comes at an exciting time, celebrating Finch Hattons joining the
Virgin Limited Edition collection in 2024 and coinciding with the re-opening of
Mahali Mzuri following its extensive refurbishment.
Available
exclusively during the high season, guests will be able to travel between the
two safari camps via Safari Link or Fly ALS, in just over an hour, seamlessly
combining both destinations in one unforgettable journey. From witnessing the Great
Migration at Mahali Mzuri in the morning, to watching red elephants roam
beneath Mount Kilimanjaro at Finch Hattons by the afternoon, this experience
offers the very best of Kenya’s wildlife, landscapes and more. In addition,
guests who stay a minimum of four nights at either property will enjoy a
complimentary further night at their chosen camp.
Mahali
Mzuri is a luxury safari camp with 12 tents, set within the breathtaking 13,500-hectare
Olare Motorogi Conservancy at the heart of the Maasai Mara ecosystem, renowned
for Big Five sightings. Situated directly along the path of the Great
Wildebeest Migration, it provides unrivalled wildlife encounters with daily
sightings of lions, elephants, and buffalo, led by experienced guides, and
often right on the camp’s doorstep.
Having
joined the Virgin Limited Edition collection in 2024, Finch Hattons is a luxury
camp with 17 tents, nestled within 35 hectares of pristine wilderness in Tsavo
West National Park. It offers uninterrupted views of Mount Kilimanjaro and
boasts over 30 years of world-class safari expertise. Home to East Africa’s
largest population of red elephants and more than 500 bird species, it is also
renowned for some of Kenya’s most striking geological wonders, including the 50
km-long Shetani Lava Flow and the Ol Doinyo Ololarami Volcano.
Although
both properties are renowned safari lodges, there is much to be discovered
beyond the game vehicle. Guests can immerse themselves in local culture by
visiting Kamba and Maasai communities to learn about their rich traditions or
taking a trip to the Mahali Mzuri funded primary school, which has
benefited from generous guest donations. Beyond wildlife encounters, both camps
provide unique activities such as Maasai warrior training, spear-throwing, and
wilderness survival sessions. At Finch Hattons, guests can embark on scenic hikes
through the Chyulu Hills or explore the nearby rhino sanctuary. Meanwhile, at
Mahali Mzuri, guests can explore the local market in Aitong, embark on guided
walking safaris through the open bush, or take to the skies on a hot air
balloon safari for an unforgettable view of the Maasai Mara.
Relaxation
is an equally essential part of the safari experience. At Finch Hattons, the
Chyulu Spa, the largest bush spa in East Africa, offers a serene retreat with a
treetop pool perfect for unwinding. Yoga sessions are held on the open-air
deck, offering views of the Chyulu Hills. At Mahali Mzuri, the spa treatment
rooms, and 12-metre outdoor heated infinity pool provide a peaceful space to
relax, with the chance to watch wildlife from the water, all while surrounded
by the tranquillity of the bush.
Before
reopening in June 2025, Mahali Mzuri will undergo a full interior refurbishment,
enhancing its 12 luxury tents, dining tent, bar, lounge, and pool overlooking
the Great Migration route. Guests will enjoy a stunning transformation that
blends contemporary African design with the valley’s natural beauty. Each tent
will feature curated local art, intricate Maasai beadwork, an ensuite bathroom,
a private deck, and breathtaking views.
To

for more details. This exclusive Mahali Mzuri x Finch Hattons safari experience
is available only during the High/Migration Season. The rates are $2,500 per
person, per night at Mahali Mzuri and $1,405 per person, per night at Finch
Hattons, based on two people sharing a tent. These rates include all meals and
drinks, twice-daily game drives, and complimentary transfers. As a special
offer, guests staying four nights at either Mahali Mzuri or Finch Hattons will
receive a complimentary fifth night at the other camp.
Internal
flights from Tsavo to the Maasai Mara are available with Safarilink
from $405 per person for flights from Finch Hattons to Mahali Mzuri, and with Fly
ALS from $466 for flights from Finch Hattons to Mahali Mzuri, as well as
