Princess Cruises has officially launched its newest Sphere-Class
ship, the Star Princess, now setting sail on her 11-day Inaugural Western
Mediterranean Voyage from Barcelona. The 177,800-ton vessel, accommodating 4,300
guests, becomes the 17th ship in the Princess fleet, marking a new era of
innovation and elegance for the renowned cruise line.
A New Star in the Princess Fleet
Departing Barcelona, Star Princess will visit Marseille,
Rome (Civitavecchia), Naples, Sicily, Cartagena (Spain), and Gibraltar, before
returning to Barcelona on 15 October 2025. Following a seven-day Mediterranean
cruise, the ship will cross the Atlantic to Fort Lauderdale, where her official
naming ceremony will take place on 6 November 2025.
After a winter-spring Caribbean season (2025–2026),
Star Princess will transit the Panama Canal and debut in Seattle for a summer
of 7-day Alaska Inside Passage cruises in 2026 – becoming the newest and most
advanced Princess ship to sail “The Great Land.”
Gus Antorcha, President of Princess Cruises, said:
“Star Princess shines brightly as one of the largest
and most spectacular ships we’ve ever built. We wish her captain and crew fair
winds and unforgettable sunsets as she begins her journey to inspire guests
across the globe.”
Captain’s Reflections
Captain Gennaro Arma, who led the ship’s construction
in Monfalcone, shared:
“To see our crew now guiding Star Princess on her
maiden voyage is an incredible honor. We warmly invite guests aboard to
experience the extraordinary service and hospitality that define Princess
Cruises.”
