The
Radisson Hotel Manchester City Centre and Radisson RED Oslo City Centre are
pioneering sustainable hospitality by eliminating Scope 1 & 2 emissions,
significantly reducing Scope 3 emissions, and compensating remaining emissions
through Nature Based Solutions. The certification has been verified by TÜV
Rheinland.
Setting
a New Standard in Sustainable Hospitality
The
Manchester property, formerly Park Inn, reopened as Radisson Hotel Manchester
City Centre on 19 May 2025. The Oslo hotel, currently Park Inn, will become
Radisson RED Oslo City Centre from July 2025. Both hotels focus on renewable
energy, low-carbon menus, and waste minimization.
Radisson
uses 100% renewable energy, electric heating and cooking systems, and
low-carbon food menus developed in partnership with Klimato. Waste is managed
through recycling initiatives, including reusable glass bottles and digital
guest services to reduce paper use.
Towards
Net Zero 2050
Federico
J. González, Executive Vice Chairman at Radisson Hotel Group, stated, "We
are proving that transforming existing hotels into Net Zero properties is not
only possible but essential." The group plans to achieve Net Zero by 2050,
focusing on upgrading existing properties as well as new builds.
The
Verified Net Zero hotels offer guests sustainable stays without sacrificing
comfort, featuring renewable energy, minimal waste, and eco-friendly amenities,
setting a new benchmark for the future of hospitality.
