Wego has announced a strategic partnership with
Spain's official tourism board, Turespaña, to promote the country as a leading
summer destination for travellers from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
The campaign will showcase Spain's diverse mix of culture, gastronomy, beaches
and authentic local experiences, encouraging visitors to explore destinations
beyond the traditional summer hotspots.
Through targeted marketing campaigns and destination
storytelling, the partners aim to inspire travellers to discover Spain's
cities, Mediterranean coastline, islands and lesser-known regions while
positioning the country as an attractive destination for both leisure and
cultural travel.
From iconic cities to coastal escapes
The campaign highlights a broad range of experiences
across Spain. Travellers are invited to explore Antoni Gaudí's architecture and
Barcelona's beachfront lifestyle, discover Madrid's museums, gastronomy and
rooftop culture, or experience Seville's flamenco traditions and historic
atmosphere.
Beyond the major cities, the initiative also showcases
destinations such as Málaga, Valencia, Mallorca and Ibiza, alongside smaller
coastal towns and regions where visitors can experience local traditions,
nature and Mediterranean hospitality away from the busiest tourist areas.
Spain's culinary heritage, summer festivals and
authentic regional experiences will also form a central part of the campaign.
Growing appeal among MENA travellers
"Spain continues to be one of the most
sought-after destinations for MENA travelers, offering an exceptional
combination of culture, leisure, gastronomy, and natural beauty," said
Mamoun Hmidan, Chief Business Officer at Wego. "Through our partnership
with Turespaña, we aim to inspire travelers to explore the many dimensions of
Spain and discover experiences that resonate with their individual travel
interests, whether they are seeking vibrant city breaks, coastal escapes,
culinary journeys, or cultural exploration."
According to Wego, Spain's strong tourism
infrastructure, extensive air connectivity and wide variety of travel
experiences continue to drive demand from across the region.
Focus on sustainable tourism
Carlos Ruiz González, Director of Spain's Tourist
Office (Turespaña) for the GCC, said: "Spain offers travelers an
incredible diversity of experiences, from cultural landmarks and culinary
traditions to beautiful coastlines and authentic local communities. Through our
collaboration with Wego, we look forward to inspiring more travelers from the
Middle East, in line with the claim of our latest marketing campaign 'Think you
know Spain? Think again', to discover the richness of Spain and experience firsthand
what makes our destination so unique throughout the summer season."
The partnership also reflects a shared commitment to
supporting sustainable tourism growth by encouraging travellers to explore a
wider range of destinations and experiences throughout Spain.
