The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali is marking Global
Wellness Day 2026 with the launch of “Wellness, Your Way”, a new campaign
designed to reflect the growing demand for personalised wellbeing experiences.
The initiative is built around the brand’s core pillars of Sleep Well, Move
Well and Eat Well, while recognising that every traveller defines wellness
differently.
Located on Bali’s southern coast, the beachfront
resort features 432 rooms and suites, seven restaurants and bars, extensive
wellness facilities and the Bali International Convention Centre, one of the
region’s leading venues for meetings and events.
Wellness travel continues to evolve
According to the resort, wellness is no longer limited
to fitness programmes and spa treatments. Increasingly, travellers are seeking
experiences that help them improve sleep quality, reduce stress, reconnect with
themselves and spend meaningful time with family and friends.
The new campaign reflects this shift by encouraging
guests to create their own wellness journey rather than follow a predefined
programme. Activities focus on movement, recovery, mindfulness, nutrition and
personal reflection, allowing visitors to choose experiences that align with
their individual needs and goals.
Ice baths and ocean views
Among the resort’s signature experiences is the
Beachfront Ice Bath programme, which combines guided breathing techniques with
cold-water immersion against the backdrop of the Indian Ocean at sunrise.
Originally popular among athletes for recovery
purposes, ice baths have become increasingly sought after by travellers looking
to improve mental resilience, focus and overall wellbeing. Participants often
describe the experience as both physically challenging and mentally rewarding.
The programme forms part of a broader wellness
offering that ranges from fitness activities and yoga sessions to restorative
treatments and relaxation experiences by the sea.
Personalised guidance at the heart of the concept
A key role in the development of the wellness
programme is played by Dr. Jitendra Pokhriyal, Director of Wellness &
Recreation at The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali.
Through individual consultations and tailored wellness
experiences, he helps guests identify practical approaches to maintaining
healthy habits during and after their stay.
“True wellness is not about following a fixed
formula,” said Dr. Jitendra Pokhriyal. “Every individual arrives with different
goals, challenges, and motivations. Our role is to help guests discover what
wellbeing means for them and provide experiences that feel both meaningful and
sustainable.”
Facilities for every type of traveller
The resort’s wellness infrastructure includes a
fitness centre, Reformer Pilates studio, hot yoga sanctuary, spin studio,
wellness studio, tennis courts and golf facilities. Guests can also participate
in the RunWestin programme, which offers guided running experiences along the
coastline.
Families are catered for through the Westin Family
programme, while business travellers attending events at the adjacent Bali
International Convention Centre can incorporate wellness activities into
meetings and incentive programmes.
The convention centre can accommodate up to 10,000
delegates, making the resort one of Bali’s leading destinations for conferences
and events.
Wellbeing becomes increasingly personal
According to General Manager Sander Looijen, guest
expectations around wellness have changed significantly in recent years.
“What has surprised us is how differently guests
define wellness today,” said Sander Looijen. “Some guests arrive wanting to
improve physical performance, others want to sleep better, reconnect with
family, recover from burnout, or simply disconnect from a constantly connected
world. There is no longer a single version of wellness travel.”
With the launch of “Wellness, Your Way”, The Westin
Resort Nusa Dua, Bali aims to reflect this diversity and provide travellers
with greater flexibility in shaping their own path to wellbeing.
The campaign underscores a growing trend within the
travel industry: wellness is becoming less about standardised programmes and
more about creating meaningful experiences tailored to individual lifestyles,
aspirations and personal goals.
