The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection has unveiled an
exclusive collaboration with Colombian luxury fashion designer Johanna Ortiz,
debuting aboard Ilma on February 17. The limited-time takeover reimagines the
yacht’s Pool Deck and Observation Terrace with Ortiz’s custom prints and
textiles.
Launching during Ilma’s Winter 2026 Caribbean season
and continuing into Summer 2026 in the Mediterranean, the concept frames travel
as an immersive, sensory experience. Decks 9 and 10 are redesigned as
extensions of the destinations encountered ashore, blending vibrant colour,
craftsmanship and relaxed sophistication.
“Johanna Ortiz brings an unmistakable point of view
that embodies culture, emotion, and beauty in motion,” said Gaby Aiguesvives,
Chief Marketing Officer of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection. “This
collaboration invites guests to experience life at sea through a fashion-led
lens that feels effortless and authentic.”
Two moods, two upper-deck environments
The takeover centres on Ortiz’s Tropical Exuberance
prints, inspired by Caribbean landscapes and interwoven with the brand’s
sailing rope knot motif. From this foundation, two distinct design narratives
emerge.
On Deck 10, Ilma’s Pool Deck features the La Rumba
print, defined by layered shades of deep blue. The space is designed to evoke
the lively rhythm of the Caribbean, creating a relaxed setting for socialising
around the main pool and bar.
Deck 9, home to the Observation Terrace, adopts the La
Siesta print in rich tropical greens. Here, the atmosphere shifts toward
stillness and retreat, offering guests a quieter lounge environment suited for
late-day relaxation.
“La Rumba and La Siesta reflect two moods I love when
I travel – moments of celebration and moments of pause,” said Johanna Ortiz.
Extending the experience beyond design
The collaboration also includes curated cocktails and
mocktails inspired by Ortiz’s preferred botanicals and coastal flavours.
Tropical fruits, herbs and subtle floral notes shape the beverage programme
across both takeover areas.
A selection of Johanna Ortiz ready-to-wear pieces is
available in the onboard boutique, extending the partnership into a broader
lifestyle concept.
With the takeover, The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection
positions design and fashion as integral elements of the onboard experience,
balancing social energy with moments of calm as Ilma sails between regions.
