The Star Alliance Lounge at Paris Charles de Gaulle
Airport has been named World’s Best Airline Alliance Lounge at the 2026 Skytrax
World Airline Awards. It is the third consecutive victory for the facility
since it opened in October 2023.
Star Alliance also secured second place in the
category with its lounge at Los Angeles International Airport, giving the
airline network the top two positions in this year’s ranking.
1,300 square metres in Terminal 1
Located in Terminal 1 at Paris Charles de Gaulle, the
award-winning lounge covers 1,300 square metres and combines contemporary
interiors with elements inspired by French culture.
Different areas are provided for passengers wishing to
work, dine or relax before departure. Features include a dedicated welcome bar,
a wine section reflecting France’s wine culture and views across the airport
runways.
“We are incredibly proud to see our Paris Charles de
Gaulle Lounge recognised as the World’s Best Airline Alliance Lounge for a
third consecutive year, and our Los Angeles lounge securing second place,” said
Ambar Franco, Star Alliance Vice President Customer Experience.
Los Angeles takes second place
The Star Alliance Lounge at Los Angeles International
Airport finished immediately behind the Paris facility. The two results
continue a series of Skytrax awards for lounges operated by the alliance over
the past decade.
The awards were presented at The Langham Hotel in
London, where representatives from airlines and the international aviation
industry gathered for the 2026 ceremony.
“We are pleased to congratulate Star Alliance for
winning the World’s Best Airline Alliance Lounge award for their lounge at
Terminal 1, Paris CDG Airport, and also for securing the second place for the
Star Alliance Lounge at Los Angeles International Airport,” said Skytrax CEO
Edward Plaisted.
The World Airline Awards are based on an international
passenger survey, with travellers voting on airlines and different aspects of
the passenger experience.
21 Star Alliance airlines serve Paris
The lounge serves passengers travelling with a
substantial Star Alliance network at Charles de Gaulle. Currently, 21 member
airlines operate from Paris, including Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines,
Brussels Airlines, Turkish Airlines, United Airlines, Air Canada, Singapore
Airlines and ANA.
Together, Star Alliance members operate more than 800
flights per week from Paris to over 30 destinations in more than 20 countries.
For passengers connecting between different member
airlines, the lounge is part of the alliance’s wider effort to provide a more
consistent airport experience across journeys involving several carriers.
