Ryanair, Morocco’s number one airline, announced today
(17 December) the opening of a new base in Rabat from April 2026. The base will
be operated with two aircraft, representing an investment of USD 200 million,
and will serve 20 routes in the summer 2026 schedule, including seven new
international connections linking Rabat with key European destinations. Rabat
becomes Ryanair’s fifth base in Morocco, further strengthening low-cost air
connectivity across the kingdom ahead of the joint hosting of the 2030 FIFA
World Cup.
The new base in Rabat is expected to support more than
800 local jobs, including 60 high-skilled positions for pilots and cabin crew.
Ryanair’s new Rabat base from summer 2026 will
include:

7 new international routes to Milan Bergamo, Baden-Baden,
Frankfurt-Hahn, Nuremberg, Porto, Pisa and Valencia

A total of 20 routes

2 based aircraft (USD 200 million investment)

The opening of the Rabat base will increase capacity
in the city by 45 per cent in summer 2026 and forms a key part of Ryanair’s
record summer schedule at 13 Moroccan airports. In total, the airline expects
to carry more than 10.7 million passengers to, from and within Morocco during
the season.
Ryanair’s total investment in Morocco has now exceeded
USD 1.6 billion in aircraft. These investments support more than 8,500 direct
and indirect jobs and contribute to economic growth in 13 cities across the
country, including Rabat, Marrakesh, Fès, Agadir, Tétouan, Essaouira, Dakhla
and Nador.
