Ryanair has unveiled the first 29 new routes for its summer 2027 schedule, opening bookings well ahead of the main holiday season. The announcement marks the beginning of a broader network expansion, with further destinations and connections expected to be confirmed over the coming months. The airline is encouraging passengers to plan their summer travel early as it gradually releases additional services for the next holiday season.
For summer 2027, Ryanair plans to operate more than 2,500 routes across a network covering 230 destinations. The schedule will form part of the airline’s extensive European operations, which currently serve more than 214 million passengers annually. The first 29 new connections are already available for booking through Ryanair’s digital sales channels, although the airline has not provided individual route details in its initial announcement.
The early release reflects the growing importance of advance booking in the European leisure travel market. Airlines are increasingly seeking to secure demand for popular holiday periods well before departure, while travellers benefit from the opportunity to compare destinations, travel dates and available fares. Ryanair is positioning its initial summer 2027 announcement as the first stage of a larger schedule rollout rather than a complete presentation of its network for the coming season.
Further network additions expected
The airline intends to announce more new routes as preparations for summer 2027 progress. Its planned network of more than 2,500 connections will cover a broad range of European leisure and city destinations, maintaining the carrier’s focus on short-haul travel and direct services.
For airports and tourism destinations, new Ryanair routes can provide opportunities to attract additional international visitors and strengthen connections with important European source markets. The eventual geographical distribution of the new services will therefore be relevant to regional tourism organisations, accommodation providers and other businesses dependent on incoming travel.
Ryanair Chief Marketing Officer Dara Brady described the initial announcement as an opportunity for passengers to begin planning their holidays.
“Ryanair is pleased to launch the first 29 new routes of what is set to be a bumper Summer 2027 schedule, giving our cost-savvy customers an early opportunity to start planning next year’s getaways,” Brady said.
The airline expects to release further additions as it continues developing its summer network. The initial announcement does not specify which airports will benefit from the 29 new connections or how many additional routes may follow.
Ryanair is also using the early launch to encourage advance reservations, arguing that passengers booking ahead may be able to secure lower fares before demand increases. Actual ticket prices will depend on the route, travel period, booking date and remaining availability.
For the European travel industry, the announcement provides an early indication of Ryanair’s capacity and network ambitions for summer 2027. More detailed assessments of the potential impact on individual destinations will become possible once the airline publishes the full list of new routes and confirms the remaining elements of its seasonal schedule.
