Radisson Hotel Group has expanded its Romanian
portfolio with the opening of Radisson Blu Hotel, Sinaia Cota 1400, a five-star
mountain retreat in the Bucegi Mountains. Housed in a landmark building dating
back to 1939, the 68-room hotel combines contemporary alpine hospitality with
direct access to ski slopes, hiking trails and one of Romania’s most celebrated
mountain destinations.
Historic landmark reimagined for modern travelers
Located at Cota 1400, adjacent to the cable car
connecting the ski areas between Cota 1400 and Cota 2000, the hotel offers
year-round access to outdoor activities while remaining within easy reach of
Bucharest.
Nearby attractions include Peleș Castle, Sinaia
Monastery, the historic Sinaia Casino and the cable car leading to the Bucegi
Plateau, home to the famous Sphinx and Babele rock formations.
“Radisson Blu Hotel, Sinaia Cota 1400 marks an
exciting addition to our growing portfolio in Romania and further strengthens
the presence of Radisson Blu in Europe's most sought-after leisure
destinations,” said Joep Peeters, Chief Operating Officer, Franchise, Radisson
Hotel Group. “Bringing together the heritage of a landmark building with
renowned alpine hospitality, direct access to the Bucegi Mountains and an
outstanding wellness offering, the hotel is perfectly positioned to welcome
guests seeking memorable mountain experiences throughout every season.”
Contemporary alpine design
The hotel features 68 rooms and suites, including an
89-square-metre Presidential Suite. Inspired by the surrounding mountain
landscape, the interiors combine natural wood, stone, warm textures and earthy
colours. Most accommodations offer panoramic mountain views, while selected
rooms include private terraces overlooking the Bucegi Mountains.
Guests also benefit from complimentary high-speed
Wi-Fi and the premium amenities associated with the Radisson Blu brand.
Local cuisine and mountain-inspired hospitality
Dining is centred around COCON Restaurant, where
Executive Chef Romică Harabagiu presents contemporary European cuisine prepared
with locally sourced seasonal ingredients. The menu highlights premium grilled
meats, freshwater fish and refined desserts, complemented by Romanian and
international wines.
The TONIC Bar & Cigar Lounge offers coffees,
aperitifs, cocktails and premium spirits in a relaxed setting overlooking the
mountains. Later this year, STUDIO 1400 Après Ski & Terrace will open
beside the cable car station, serving casual cuisine, cocktails and hosting
seasonal entertainment throughout the winter.
Wellness at the heart of the experience
A key feature of the hotel is the 700-square-metre
FORÊT KITSUNE Spa & Wellness, inspired by Japanese wellness traditions and
the natural surroundings of the Bucegi Mountains.
Facilities include indoor and outdoor heated pools,
saunas, a hammam, steam bath, saline room, hydrotherapy features, treatment
rooms and spacious relaxation areas. Guests can also enjoy treatments using
OSKIA skincare products alongside rituals inspired by alpine botanicals and
Japanese wellness practices.
The property also features a Technogym-equipped
fitness centre with a retractable glass roof and dedicated ski facilities with
heated lockers and drying systems for winter sports equipment.
Meetings with a mountain backdrop
For business and private events, the hotel offers the
SFINX Events Hall, a flexible 122-square-metre venue accommodating up to 126
guests. Equipped with integrated audiovisual technology, LED displays,
high-speed Wi-Fi and adaptable layouts, it is designed for conferences,
meetings, workshops and celebrations.
“Radisson Blu Hotel, Sinaia Cota 1400 is Romania's
first internationally branded five-star mountain hotel at this altitude,
surrounded by forests, mountain peaks and breathtaking views,” said Octavian
Moldovan, General Manager of Radisson Blu Hotel, Sinaia Cota 1400. “It is a
privilege to see this remarkable building, whose story began in 1939 under the
patronage of the Royal House of Romania, thoughtfully restored for a new
generation of travelers. We look forward to welcoming guests to experience the warmth
of mountain hospitality, whether they come to explore the Bucegi Mountains,
relax in our spa or simply enjoy time together in this special setting.”
