A rare opportunity to acquire a private island in
Fiji’s South Pacific has been announced: Wavi Island, a 27-acre freehold
property just off Vanua Levu, will be sold to the highest bidder on December
19, 2025, at a luxury auction® without reserve. The island, previously offered
for $20 million USD, is being presented by Miami-based Platinum Luxury Auctions
in collaboration with listing broker Chester Rendell of New Zealand Sotheby’s
International Realty.
A Fully Serviced Island with Proven Income Potential
Wavi Island offers 360-degree views of the Koro Sea
and Vanua Levu, lush tropical landscaping, and modern infrastructure including
electricity, water and internet. A 450-meter private bridge links the island to
the mainland, placing Savusavu Airport only 6 miles away and ensuring seamless
access while preserving privacy.
Central to the island is the Signature Villa, a
3,000-square-foot residence with three bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a private pool and
spa. Leased only selectively at the owner’s discretion, the villa has proven to
be a reliable income-producing asset. Existing development plans envision at
least 20 villas across the property.
“This is our third luxury auction® offering in Fiji,
and our team is excited to work with the NZ Sotheby’s team to find a new owner
for this special, private island,” said Trayor Lesnock, founder and president
of Platinum Luxury Auctions. “Wavi’s resort-style amenity package – along with
19 oceanfront lots ready for additional development – makes it ideal as a
private or income-producing asset.”
Freehold Ownership: A Rare Advantage in Fiji
Unlike most Fijian real estate—where over 90% is held
by leasehold—Wavi Island conveys as freehold, Fiji’s equivalent of clear title
ownership in the United States. As one of the few freehold islands accessible
to foreign buyers, Wavi carries inherent long-term value.
Development Vision: 20 Waterfront Parcels
The island’s master plan outlines 20 oceanfront lots,
each between 0.5 and 1 acre. One lot houses the completed Signature Villa; the
remaining 19 parcels offer a blank canvas for future development. Shared
amenities already in place include:
·
A 3-bed, 1-bath manager’s house
·
Large pavilion with bar and lounge
·
Lagoon-style marina, designed for one boat slip per parcel
·
Community pool
·
Tennis/pickleball court
The landscape features coconut and papaya trees,
complemented by custom lighting throughout the island.
Preview Opportunities and Remote Tours
On-site property previews will run daily from December
1–18 and can be arranged by contacting Trudy Vella, Platinum’s project manager,
at +1 800.997.4325. Remote tours via Zoom, FaceTime, or similar platforms are
also available. Additional photos, video material and auction documents can be
accessed at FijiLuxuryAuction.com.
