Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has launched its Black Friday promotion for 2026, offering a 50% discount on cruises across its fleet and worldwide itinerary portfolio. The campaign, which began on 5 November, also includes the company's Free at Sea programme and additional incentives on selected departures. The offer extends to cruises aboard Norwegian Aura and Norwegian Bella, scheduled to enter service in 2027 and 2028 respectively.
The promotion covers itineraries visiting nearly 350 destinations, including the Caribbean, Bahamas, Alaska and Europe. Alongside the advertised fare reduction, NCL is offering selected customers additional benefits such as prepaid gratuities or discounts of up to US$1,000 on eligible sailings and cabin categories. The exact savings and included services depend on the applicable promotional conditions.
The campaign is also intended to attract travellers who have not previously considered a cruise holiday. NCL is highlighting shorter itineraries, flexible onboard experiences and a broad range of accommodation categories to appeal to first-time passengers, families and independent travellers. Three- and four-day Bahamas cruises are among the products being promoted as an introduction to cruising, while longer itineraries provide opportunities to visit multiple destinations without changing accommodation.
New ships and European itineraries in focus
The Black Friday campaign includes advance bookings for Norwegian Aura, which is scheduled to debut in May 2027, and Norwegian Bella, expected to enter service in 2028. According to NCL, the two vessels will become the largest ships in its fleet.
Norwegian Aura will introduce several new dining options, including Tamara, the company's first speciality restaurant dedicated to Indian cuisine. The ship will also feature the Indulge Food Hall, offering nine internationally inspired food stations.
For the 2027 European season, NCL plans to deploy nine ships across the Mediterranean, Greek islands and Northern Europe. Departure ports will include Barcelona, Lisbon and Civitavecchia near Rome, with Norwegian Aura forming part of the European programme.
Alaska will remain another important destination. Norwegian Encore, Norwegian Joy and Norwegian Bliss are scheduled to operate departures from Seattle, while Norwegian Jade will offer itineraries from Vancouver and Whittier.
The range of destinations is a central element of NCL's marketing strategy. The company reports an average port stay of more than ten hours across its itineraries, allowing passengers additional time for excursions and independent exploration.
Private island investments and onboard experiences
NCL is also using the promotion to highlight its investments in private destinations, particularly Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas.
The island's expanding facilities include the Great Tides Waterpark, with 19 waterslides, a river attraction and cliff-jumping experiences. Other facilities include the Great Life Lagoon with two swim-up bars and the adults-only Vibe Shore Club.
Harvest Caye in Belize provides another private destination within the company's Caribbean and Central American cruise portfolio.
Onboard, NCL continues to emphasise its combination of flexible dining, entertainment and recreational facilities. Depending on the vessel, these include speciality restaurants, spa facilities, adults-only relaxation areas and attractions such as the Aqua Slidecoaster, which combines elements of a roller coaster and waterslide.
Accommodation ranges from cabins designed for solo travellers to larger family suites and The Haven, the company's premium accommodation concept with exclusive facilities and services.
Free at Sea adds optional benefits
The Black Friday offer is being promoted alongside NCL's Free at Sea programme, which combines several services that would otherwise be purchased separately.
Depending on the booking conditions, these can include beverage packages, speciality dining, shore excursion credits and Wi-Fi access. NCL places the potential value of the benefits at more than US$2,000, although the actual value will vary according to itinerary, duration and selected services.
On certain departures, additional family incentives are available, including offers allowing children to travel without paying the standard cruise fare.
For travel agents, the combination of a fleet-wide discount and supplementary benefits creates opportunities to address different customer segments, from first-time cruisers considering short Caribbean voyages to experienced passengers planning longer journeys.
However, the advertised 50% reduction should be assessed against the applicable reference fares, while additional charges and package conditions may affect the final holiday price. The supplementary US$1,000 discount and prepaid gratuities are not available on every sailing.
NCL has not specified a closing date for the promotion in its announcement. Travellers and travel advisors are therefore advised to check the current booking conditions, eligible departures and availability before making reservations.
The inclusion of ships entering service in 2027 and 2028 also gives the campaign a longer-term booking dimension, allowing customers to secure future itineraries and preferred cabin categories well ahead of departure.
