Mexico: Grand Hyatt Cancun Beach Resort to open in December

Grand Hyatt is preparing to make its debut in Cancun with the opening of the Grand Hyatt Cancun Beach Resort in December 2026. The beachfront property will operate as a fully all-inclusive resort and will add 500 rooms, including 47 suites, to Puerto Cancun.

Owned by Grupo Diestra, the resort is located within the private waterfront community of Puerto Cancun. Guests will have direct access to a marina and will be close to a golf course, shopping and dining facilities. Cancun’s Hotel Zone and other attractions are within easy reach, while Cancun International Airport is approximately 25 minutes away.

500 rooms overlooking the ocean and marina

All guestrooms will feature private terraces with views of either the ocean or marina. The design combines contemporary interiors with references to the natural surroundings and local culture, with an emphasis on connecting indoor and outdoor spaces.

Selected suites will have private pools. Guests booking Grand Club rooms will have access to the Grand Club lounge, which offers continental breakfast, afternoon cocktails and additional services.

Mexican art will also feature prominently throughout the property. An installation by artist Teresa Solar will welcome guests at the entrance, while tiles created by Mexican artist and designer María Pizarro will be incorporated into the resort.

“Grand Hyatt Cancun Beach Resort will offer guests the opportunity to experience the destination through a fully all-inclusive experience defined by best-in-class accommodations and exceptional hospitality,” said General Manager Omar Vázquez. He highlighted Puerto Cancun’s marina, beaches and location as important elements of the new resort.

Fourteen restaurants and bars

Food and beverage will form a major part of the all-inclusive concept, with 14 outlets planned across the property.

The selection will include Quattro for Northern Italian cuisine, sushi and omakase concept Fiera San and international restaurant Kaab. French cuisine will be served at Bistrot Cigalette by chef Thierry Blouet, while Chacho and Los Fuegos del Sur will draw inspiration from Argentina and Uruguay.

Further venues will range from the Leonora’s Boulevardier Bar & Terraza and Saká pool bar to Fiera Tacos, Grand Café & Market and Paradiso, covering everything from casual daytime meals and street food to cocktails and more formal dining.

Nine pools and private beach club

Wellness facilities will centre around the Ritua Sanctuary Spa, which will incorporate elements inspired by local traditions. Facilities will include outdoor relaxation areas, a traditional temazcal, hammock areas and a fitness centre.

The resort will have nine multi-level outdoor pools, including an adults-only pool and an infinity pool. A private Beach Club will provide another pool and its own restaurant.

Water activities will include snorkelling, diving, kayaking, windsurfing and paddleboarding. Yacht and sailing trips can be arranged through the nearby marina, while excursions will provide access to coral reefs, cenotes and archaeological sites. Families will also have access to a dedicated Grand Kids Club.

Around 30,000 square feet for meetings and events

Grand Hyatt is also positioning the property for meetings, incentives and larger events. Around 30,000 square feet, or approximately 2,800 square metres, of flexible indoor event space will be located on a single level.

The facilities will include a Great Ballroom that can be divided into eight sections, two breakout rooms and a boardroom. Terraces, beach areas and poolside locations will provide additional outdoor event spaces.

With the December opening, Grand Hyatt will enter Cancun with a large-scale resort combining the brand’s international luxury positioning with an all-inclusive concept in one of Mexico’s most established holiday destinations.
