Los Angeles: Delta plans record LAX schedule for summer 2027 - Get updated on what's happening in tourism!

Delta Air Lines is preparing its biggest schedule to date at Los Angeles International Airport. At the peak of the 2027 summer season, Delta and its partners plan to operate more than 200 daily departures from LAX to nearly 70 destinations, while adding new nonstop services to Monterey and Philadelphia and increasing frequencies on several domestic routes.

The expansion comes alongside further investment in premium facilities and onboard products. Delta says it already offers more premium seats at LAX than any other airline and is continuing to expand its lounge network, premium check-in facilities and Delta One services.

More than 200 daily departures at summer peak

The summer 2027 schedule will be the largest Delta has operated from Los Angeles. In addition to the new nonstop connections with Monterey and Philadelphia, frequencies will increase to seven U.S. destinations.

According to Delta, it will also be the only airline at LAX serving each of the airport’s ten largest markets with multiple daily flights. The expanded schedule is designed to strengthen both domestic connectivity and access to Delta’s international network.

$2.3 billion invested in LAX terminals

Delta’s growth in Los Angeles has been accompanied by major infrastructure investment. Its $2.3 billion Sky Way project transformed Terminals 2 and 3 into an interconnected airport complex, with further improvements focusing on passenger orientation, security processing and terminal facilities.

Delta One passengers have access to a dedicated check-in area and private TSA security screening. The airline has also been expanding its lounge capacity.

LAX recently became the first airport in Delta’s network with two Delta One Lounges. A further 11,000-square-foot Delta Sky Club is scheduled to open in Terminal 2 in 2027.

By 2028, Delta plans to operate four lounges across Terminals 2 and 3 – two Delta One Lounges and two Delta Sky Clubs. Together, they will provide more than 60,000 square feet of space and over 1,000 seats.

A350s anchor international premium product

Delta’s international services from Los Angeles are operated with Airbus A350-900 aircraft equipped with 40 Delta One seats. The premium cabin is also available on selected domestic routes from LAX, including services to Honolulu, Maui, Kona, New York-JFK, Boston and Atlanta.

The airline is simultaneously developing its onboard food and beverage offer. From October 1, Delta One passengers will have access to a new wine portfolio comprising 13 selections from Californian and international wineries. Domestic First Class passengers can also choose dishes developed by chef José Andrés.

Fast, free Wi-Fi for SkyMiles members is being extended to flights from Los Angeles across the Pacific from this autumn, alongside Delta Sync entertainment and other onboard services.

Los Angeles remains a major focus for Delta

The combination of network expansion and premium investment makes LAX one of Delta’s key West Coast gateways. Its strategy extends beyond adding flights: the airline is building an increasingly integrated premium journey encompassing check-in, security, lounges, cabins and onboard service.

With almost 70 destinations and more than 200 daily departures planned together with its partners at the height of summer 2027, Delta will reach a new operational record in Los Angeles.
