Emirates Skywards has expanded its loyalty programme
with the launch of Skywards Rail, enabling members to redeem Skywards Miles for
rail travel to more than 12,000 destinations across Europe.
Through the new platform, www.skywardsrail.com, members can book tickets with more than 40 rail operators in 12
European countries using either Skywards Miles or a combination of Cash +
Miles. The booking service is available online and on mobile devices in five
languages, with e-tickets delivered by email.
More flexibility beyond air travel
The platform allows members to compare schedules,
select ticket types and cabins, and even redeem Miles for tickets for family
and friends.
According to Emirates Skywards, the new service is
designed to complement air travel by making it easier for passengers to
continue their journey by rail after arriving in Europe.
More than 40 rail operators
Skywards Rail provides access to leading European rail
companies, including Eurostar, Deutsche Bahn, SNCF, Trenitalia, TGV, Renfe and
ÖBB, as well as UK operators such as Heathrow Express, Gatwick Express,
Thameslink, Great Western Railway and ScotRail.
Examples of redemptions include Heathrow Express from
4,700 Skywards Miles, Berlin to Frankfurt from 4,100 Miles, Barcelona to Madrid
from 5,400 Miles, Rome to Milan from 8,100 Miles and London to Paris from 9,400
Miles.
Growing loyalty programme
Launched in 2000, Emirates Skywards has evolved into a
global lifestyle loyalty programme with more than 39 million members across 190
countries. The programme currently welcomes more than 78,000 new members each
week as it continues to expand redemption opportunities beyond flights.
