Condor has launched daily flights between Berlin Brandenburg Airport and Abu Dhabi, expanding international connectivity from Germany’s capital region. Operated in codeshare with Etihad Airways, the service provides a direct link to the United Arab Emirates and access to onward flights through Etihad’s hub. Connecting destinations include Bangkok, Sydney and Hanoi.
The route is operated by an Airbus A320neo with 180 seats. Scheduled flying time is six hours and 20 minutes from Berlin to Abu Dhabi and seven hours in the opposite direction. The daily frequency gives leisure and business travellers a year-round option for reaching the Gulf and connecting with Etihad’s wider network.
For Berlin Brandenburg Airport, the addition broadens access to destinations beyond its own direct route network. The partnership also strengthens Etihad’s presence in the German market by linking its Abu Dhabi hub with passengers from Berlin and Brandenburg. Departure times from Berlin will change substantially when the winter timetable begins on 25 October, moving from late afternoon to the morning.
Abu Dhabi adds onward options
Condor Chief Commercial Officer Dr. Pierre Dominique Prümm said the route would strengthen the capital region’s international connectivity while combining the two airlines’ networks.
“Together with our codeshare partner Etihad Airways, we are offering our guests not only an attractive direct connection to Abu Dhabi, but also seamless onward connections to numerous destinations in Asia, Australia and Africa,” he said.
Etihad’s Vice President Alliances & Joint Ventures, Lena Havia, described the service as a valuable addition to the airline’s German offering. The partners intend to develop their cooperation further.
BER Chief Executive Officer Aletta von Massenbach highlighted the benefits for both outbound travellers and international visitors. She said access through Etihad’s hub would create additional travel and business opportunities, particularly to destinations in Asia and Australia.
Morning departures for the winter season
Under the current timetable, flights leave Berlin at 4:40 p.m. and arrive in Abu Dhabi at 1 a.m. the following day. Return services depart Abu Dhabi at 2:15 a.m. and reach BER at 7:15 a.m. All times are local.
From 25 October, Berlin departures move to 10 a.m., with arrival in Abu Dhabi at 7:20 p.m. Return flights are scheduled to arrive at BER at 6:20 a.m.
The timetable change coincides with Germany’s return to winter time. Abu Dhabi is currently two hours ahead of Berlin; the difference increases to three hours from 25 October. Passengers planning connecting journeys should therefore check the schedule applicable to their travel dates.
