Vietnam is attracting growing interest from
international travellers, with accommodation searches from China increasing by
164 per cent year-on-year during the first five months of 2026, according to
new data from digital travel platform Agoda. The analysis compares
accommodation searches made between 1 January and 31 May 2026 with the same
period in 2025 and shows growth across all of Vietnam's ten largest inbound
markets.
Regional demand continues to accelerate
China recorded the strongest increase in accommodation
searches, followed by Indonesia (86 per cent), the Philippines (82 per cent),
Thailand (65 per cent) and Poland (63 per cent). India, Qatar, Myanmar,
Malaysia and New Zealand also ranked among the ten fastest-growing source
markets.
The results underline Vietnam's rising popularity
across Southeast Asia, where travellers are increasingly drawn by the country's
combination of cultural attractions, vibrant cities, renowned cuisine and beach
destinations. Poland was the only European market in the top ten, with Agoda
suggesting that the introduction of visa-free entry for Polish citizens in 2025
may have contributed to growing demand.
Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City remain top
destinations
Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City continued to be
the most searched destinations across the majority of international markets.
The three cities offer visitors a diverse mix of historical landmarks, cultural
experiences, coastal attractions and modern urban life, making them key
gateways for international tourism.
Phu Quoc emerged as the most popular Vietnamese
destination among travellers from India and Poland, highlighting growing demand
for the country's island and beach resorts.
"The strong growth in searches across inbound
markets reflects Vietnam's increasing appeal to travellers from both the region
and further afield," said Vu Ngoc Lam, Country Director, Vietnam at Agoda.
"From dynamic cities and cultural discoveries to relaxing beach escapes,
Vietnam offers a diverse range of experiences for different travel preferences.
We are delighted to support travellers in discovering the country through
Agoda's seamless and intuitive digital travel platform, which offers great
value deals on accommodations, flights, and activities."
According to Agoda, the platform currently offers
access to more than 6 million accommodation properties, over 130,000 flight
routes and more than 300,000 travel activities worldwide.
