Jin Jiang Hotels and Trip.com are expanding their
cooperation across Southeast Asia. A subsidiary of the Chinese hotel group has
signed a three-year memorandum of understanding with Trip.com Travel Singapore
covering ten ASEAN countries and aimed at combining the companies’ hotel
portfolio, digital distribution and marketing capabilities.
The agreement covers Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia,
Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos and Brunei. The
partners intend to use their respective platforms and networks to strengthen
their market presence while developing a more closely integrated hospitality
ecosystem across the region.
Fixed commissions to provide greater cost certainty
One of the most concrete elements of the agreement is
a unified fixed commission structure for participating properties operated by
the Jin Jiang Hotels subsidiary in the ten ASEAN markets.
The model is intended to replace fluctuating
commission arrangements and give hotel operators greater transparency and
predictability over distribution costs. Jin Jiang Hotels and Trip.com expect
the standardized framework to provide participating properties with a more
stable commercial basis for long-term growth.
The cooperation will also include joint marketing
activities and an exchange of resources between the two companies.
Connecting hotel inventory with Trip.com’s global
reach
A second focus is international customer acquisition.
The partners plan to combine Jin Jiang Hotels’ physical hotel network with
Trip.com’s global online distribution and customer base.
The cooperation is designed to cover different stages
of a Southeast Asia trip, ranging from cross-border bookings and destination
activities to accommodation and after-sales services. For participating hotels,
the companies expect the model to improve access to international guests,
support occupancy and broaden the mix of source markets.
The two partners describe the approach as an
integrated “tourism + accommodation” ecosystem intended to strengthen tourism
links between ASEAN markets and international source countries.
Jin Jiang expands local structures in Southeast Asia
The agreement comes as Jin Jiang Hotels continues to
build its operational presence in Southeast Asia. Its subsidiary has
established dedicated development and operations teams in Malaysia, Indonesia
and Vietnam.
The company is also using its global purchasing
platform GPP and digital systems to support its regional expansion while
adapting operations to individual Southeast Asian markets.
These structures are intended to prepare the ground
for further hotel openings and give Jin Jiang Hotels a more localized base from
which to expand its brands across the region. The partnership with Trip.com
adds a distribution component to that strategy, linking future hotel growth
with access to the online travel platform’s international customer base.
