With the summer holidays in North Rhine-Westphalia now
halfway through, Eurowings is targeting travellers who have yet to make their
holiday plans. The airline says fares are still available at short notice to a
range of popular European destinations from Düsseldorf and Cologne/Bonn as well
as other German airports.
At the same time, Eurowings is expanding its onboard
food selection with another creation by German chef Tim Raue and adding new
products made from retired aircraft materials to its merchandise range.
Last-minute options for European summer destinations
Eurowings points in particular to departures within
the next one to two weeks. Destinations with available fares include Palma de
Mallorca, Ibiza, Málaga, Alicante and Barcelona in Spain, as well as Olbia,
Split, Rhodes, Kos, Venice and Nice.
Travellers looking for short-notice departures can use
the airline's low-fare calendar to compare the cheapest available fares within
their preferred travel period.
Tim Raue adds Fleischkäse sandwich to onboard menu
Following the introduction of Tim Raue's Currywurst in
May, Eurowings is adding a second dish created by the German chef to its
onboard menu.
The new Fleischkäse sandwich combines poultry meatloaf
in a pretzel roll with mustard, Tabasco mayonnaise, fresh coleslaw and
sweet-and-sour pickles. It is priced at 6.90 euros.
Eurowings is also offering the sandwich as an
Oktoberfest deal together with a bottle of Hachenburger Helles beer for 9.90
euros.
Retired aircraft materials get a second life
Eurowings is also expanding its range of upcycled
merchandise. In cooperation with BAG TO LIFE, materials and components that are
no longer needed aboard aircraft are being transformed into new products.
Retired seatbelts, headrest covers and other materials
are used to make items including amenity kits, key rings and barbecue aprons.
Rather than being discarded after their original use, the aircraft materials
are repurposed for the airline's merchandise range.
The products are available through the Eurowings Merch
Store.
