Tobias Lund Andresen of the DSM-Firmenich-PostNL
took back-to-back wins at the Tour of Türkiye on Thursday.
The Danish cyclist completed the 177.9-kilometer
(110-mile) track in four hours, 18 minutes, and 12 seconds in Stage 5 between
the Aegean resort towns of Bodrum and Kusadasi.
His teammate Fabio Jakobsen came second, while Luri
Leitao from the Caja Rural-Seguros RGA finished third.
Andresen, 21, retained the Turquoise jersey, worn
by the general classification leader, with a time of 18 hours, 51 minutes, and
57 seconds.
The Tour of Türkiye, the only intercontinental
bicycle tour in the world, is hosting four world tour teams, seven
professional, 12 continental, and one national team.
The Turkish Cycling Federation has been organizing
the tour, earlier known as the Marmara Tour, since 1963. It gained
international status in 1965 and was brought under presidential authority in
1966.
The eight-day cycling event will continue with
stage six between the Aegean resort town of Kusadasi and Manisa (Mount Spil) on
Friday, and end in Istanbul on Sunday. The fifth stage had 162 cyclists from 25
teams.
Remaining stages:
Stage 6: Kusadasi - Manisa (Mount Spil)
Stage 7: Izmir - Izmir
Stage 8: Istanbul - Istanbul
