Marriott International has opened The Dali EDITION in
Yunnan Province, introducing the EDITION brand to one of Southwest China's most
culturally significant destinations. Set on the slopes of Cangshan Mountain
with panoramic views of Erhai Lake, the hotel combines contemporary luxury with
the region's rich natural and cultural heritage.
Luxury hotel in a landmark destination
Located approximately 23 kilometres from Dali Railway
Station and 39 kilometres from Dali Fengyi Airport, the hotel offers convenient
access to attractions including the Cangshan Mountain Scenic Area, the Three
Pagodas and Dali Old Town.
"Dali carries a remarkable identity, shaped over
centuries by exchange, artistry, and landscape," said George Fleck, Senior
Vice President and Global Brand Leader, EDITION. "With The Dali EDITION,
we saw an opportunity to honor that history while introducing a distinctly
contemporary point of view."
The opening marks the third EDITION hotel in Greater
China and reflects the brand's continued expansion in the region.
Contemporary design inspired by Yunnan
The hotel features 151 rooms and suites, including
private villas with swimming pools. Designed by Shenzhen Cheng Chung Design,
the property incorporates locally inspired materials such as aged timber,
bluestone and Erhai Lake pebbles, while floor-to-ceiling windows maximise views
of the surrounding landscape.
Guests can choose from several dining concepts,
including the all-day restaurant Market at EDITION, the wood-fired KUSHO
restaurant, the signature Lobby Bar and a Chinese restaurant inspired by Bai
architecture. A traditional tea experience introduces visitors to Yunnan's
renowned tea culture.
Wellness and local experiences
Facilities include a spa with five private treatment
rooms, a fitness centre, an indoor yoga terrace and a 25-metre indoor swimming
pool. Guests can also take part in locally inspired activities such as guided
mushroom foraging, sunrise jogging, tea ceremonies and sound bath sessions.
"The opening of The Dali EDITION marks our third
EDITION hotel in Greater China, underscoring the brand's growing presence in
the region," said Bart Buiring, Managing Director, Luxury, Greater China,
Marriott International.
