IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management
agreement with an investment fund managed by SEDCO Capital to launch Hotel
Indigo Grand Square Jeddah. The 150-key property marks the first collaboration
between the global hotel group and the Saudi real estate investment fund and
will serve as a central element of the new Grand Square mixed-use development
on King Abdulaziz Road.
A flagship lifestyle addition to Jeddah
Developed through a strategic partnership between
Ajdan Real Estate Development Company, MASIC Investment Company, and SEDCO
Capital, Grand Square integrates hospitality, retail, and office space in one
urban destination. Within this setting, Hotel Indigo Grand Square Jeddah will
showcase the brand’s hallmark approach: a design narrative rooted in the
neighbourhood’s character, culture, and energy.
Guests can expect thoughtfully crafted rooms, high-end
amenities, and an atmosphere that blends creativity with comfort, offering a
stay that is both contemporary and locally grounded.
Strengthening Jeddah’s lifestyle hospitality landscape
Haitham Mattar, Managing Director, IHG Hotels &
Resorts, India, Middle East & Africa, said:
“Lifestyle travel is becoming increasingly
sought-after in the Kingdom, and we are looking forward to introducing another
Hotel Indigo property in Jeddah as part of our expanding lifestyle portfolio.
This signing not only strengthens our footprint in one of the country’s most
dynamic cities but also supports Saudi Arabia’s broader ambitions to diversify
its tourism and hospitality offering.”
He continued:
“Hotel Indigo is a brand built on storytelling and
local immersion – ideally suited to a destination like Jeddah, where rich
culture and creativity intersect. This property is as unique as the
neighbourhood it is part of, and we are excited to bring it to life.”
A development aligned with Vision 2030
Mr. Abdulwahhab Abed, CEO of SEDCO Capital, noted:
“This agreement reflects SEDCO Capital’s strategic
direction to develop high-quality real estate assets that contribute to the
Kingdom’s urban and economic development. Hotel Indigo Grand Square Jeddah
represents a pivotal step within an integrated urban project designed to serve
the community and deliver added value to the real estate sector.”
The project aims to reinforce Jeddah’s reputation as a
leading urban and tourism hub and aligns with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
IHG’s growing presence in Saudi Arabia
IHG currently operates 46 hotels across six brands in
the Kingdom — InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Staybridge Suites,
voco, and Hotel Indigo — with 60 more properties scheduled to open within the
next three to five years.
