IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed an agreement with Uniprom
Hoteli d.o.o. to open Crowne Plaza Budva on Montenegro’s Adriatic coast. The
new property expands IHG’s presence in the country to eight open and pipeline
hotels and forms part of Crowne Plaza’s growing European network of more than
110 open and planned properties.
Expanding across the Balkans
IHG currently operates 12 hotels in the Balkan region,
with a further 10 under development. In Montenegro, Crowne Plaza Budva will
join Regent Porto Montenegro, voco Podgorica, Crowne Plaza Podgorica and
Iberostar Waves Herceg Novi.
The new 81-room hotel is scheduled to open in Q1 2026,
set along Budva’s lively Slovenska obala promenade. Located just 70 metres from
the sea and close to the Old Town and marina, the hotel will sit at the heart
of an emerging tourism district surrounded by parks, restaurants and seaside
attractions.
Premium design on Montenegro’s coast
Crowne Plaza Budva will offer a modern experience for
blended business and leisure travellers, combining the brand’s New Modern
design with the natural setting of the Adriatic coastline. A destination
restaurant with uninterrupted sea views and a stylish terrace – already
regarded as one of Budva’s most sophisticated gathering spots – will create a
social hub for both guests and locals.
Flexible meeting spaces for business and events
The hotel will feature contemporary meeting and event
spaces equipped with the latest technology, suitable for workshops, seminars,
conferences, exhibitions, and social gatherings. Designed to support
productivity and connection, these spaces will position the hotel as a
versatile venue for corporate and leisure groups.
“A cornerstone of Montenegro’s tourism industry”
“We’re delighted to be partnering with Uniprom Hoteli
d.o.o. to bring our Crowne Plaza brand to Budva – a destination that continues
to attract tourists on the Adriatic coast,” said Willemijn Geels, Vice
President, Development, Europe, IHG Hotels & Resorts. “The signing marks an
exciting step in our strategic expansion across the Balkans. Crowne Plaza Budva
will offer guests a premium stay in one of the country’s most dynamic coastal
cities.”
Representing Uniprom Hoteli d.o.o., Veselin Pejović
and Stevan Pejović added: “Crowne Plaza Budva represents an opportunity to
showcase the best of Montenegrin hospitality in a destination known for its
beauty and energy. Together with IHG, we aim to set a new benchmark for upscale
hospitality in Montenegro.”
Crowne Plaza’s growing European footprint
Crowne Plaza is a global premium brand with more than
400 hotels worldwide in city, resort, airport and suburban locations. The
brand’s refreshed visual identity and new guest-facing programmes support the
needs of blended travellers and reinforce its role as a leader in the premium
segment.
Crowne Plaza Budva will join 92 open Crowne Plaza
hotels in Europe and 19 in the development pipeline, including upcoming
properties in Paris Marne-la-Vallée, Katowice and Istanbul West.
Numbers reflect status as of 30 September 2025.
