Hilton has expanded its presence in India’s
hospitality market with the opening of Slohh by Roach Bengaluru, Curio
Collection by Hilton. The 221-room hotel marks both the debut of Curio
Collection by Hilton in India and South Asia and Hilton’s first lifestyle
property in the country, reflecting growing demand for distinctive,
experience-led accommodation.
Located in Whitefield, one of Bengaluru’s leading
business and technology districts, the hotel has been developed in partnership
with Bengaluru-based Roach Lifescapes. Combining contemporary architecture with
local traditions, the property draws inspiration from the Malnad region in the
Western Ghats, creating a guest experience shaped by culture, community and
design.
Inspired by the heritage of the Malnad region
As part of Curio Collection by Hilton’s portfolio of
individually distinctive hotels, Slohh by Roach reflects the character of the
coffee-growing estates and residential architecture of the Malnad region.
Natural materials, traditional pitched roofs and
handcrafted design elements create warm, intimate interiors inspired by local
homes. The colour palette follows the life cycle of a coffee bean, moving from
soft neutral tones to rich chocolate hues, complemented by accents of dusty
pink and rust that evoke the spices and landscapes of southern India.
“Bengaluru continues to be a key market for Hilton in
India, shaped by its strong business ecosystem and evolving travel demand. The
debut of Curio Collection in South Asia, marking our first lifestyle offering
in India, is a significant milestone as we expand our portfolio to meet growing
demand for distinctive, experience-led hospitality. The opening of this hotel
reflects our ambition to bring globally renowned brands to India in ways that
feel deeply relevant to the local market, blending character, authenticity, and
the exceptional hospitality that guests expect from Hilton,” said Zubin Saxena,
Senior Vice President and Regional Head, South Asia, Hilton.
Designed for business, leisure and celebrations
The hotel offers 221 guestrooms and suites across
seven accommodation categories, many featuring balconies overlooking Varthur
Lake and Bengaluru’s skyline. Larger suites, including the Malnad Presidential
Suite, feature separate living and dining areas inspired by traditional
plantation homes.
For meetings, conferences and celebrations, the
property includes The Banyan, a pillarless ballroom spanning 5,000 square feet
with capacity for up to 600 guests. Additional facilities include a spacious
pre-function area, meeting rooms, a boardroom, a beauty salon and a dedicated
bridal suite.
Guests also have access to a temperature-controlled
outdoor swimming pool, a 24-hour fitness centre, a hammam and a full-service
spa.
Local flavours and cultural experiences
Dining plays a central role in the Slohh experience.
Nana’s, the hotel's all-day dining restaurant, serves dishes inspired by family
recipes, seasonal ingredients and the culinary traditions of Karnataka and the
Malnad region, complemented by Indian favourites and selected international
classics.
An Executive Club Lounge further enhances the culinary
and social offering for both resident and visiting guests.
Culture is woven throughout the guest experience, from
a Potter-in-Residence studio to the Grandma’s Recipe initiative, which
celebrates family stories and traditional cooking. Carefully curated playlists
featuring jazz, rhythm and blues, and timeless classics provide the soundtrack
throughout the hotel's public spaces.
“Each Curio Collection property is selected for its
individual character and sense of place. As we bring the brand to India, Slohh
by Roach reflects our focus on hotels that are shaped by their surroundings
through thoughtful design, curated culinary experiences, and locally inspired
programming,” said Tal Shefer, Senior Vice President, Brand Management, Asia
Pacific, Hilton.
A vision rooted in Bengaluru
According to Roach Lifescapes founder Christina Roach,
the hotel was designed to recreate the warmth and hospitality of a family home
while reflecting Bengaluru’s contemporary character.
“With Slohh by Roach, we wanted to create a hotel that
feels deeply connected to the way people want to live, making it an experience
that guests will remember. The vision has been shaped by our own upbringing and
the way we have always experienced hospitality at home, where food was at the
heart of every gathering and everyone felt naturally welcome. We wanted to
bring that feeling into an urban hotel experience through thoughtful design,
food which evokes nostalgia, and service that feels personal, intuitive, and
genuinely caring. We are thrilled to partner with Hilton to bring this vision
of ours to life through the first Curio Collection hotel in India. The hotel
will mirror the spirit of Bengaluru in a way that feels authentic and
contemporary, offering guests a stay defined by individuality, creativity and
meaningful local connection.”
