Dusit International is continuing its expansion in
India with the signing of Dusit Princess Rishikesh, a new mixed-use hospitality
development in the northern state of Uttarakhand. The project will be developed
in partnership with Atmosphere, a luxury real estate and hospitality company
specialising in premium lifestyle destinations.
Scheduled to open in 2031, the resort will be located
near Rishikesh, one of India’s best-known destinations for spirituality,
wellness tourism and outdoor experiences. The development is designed to blend
contemporary hospitality with wellness-focused experiences inspired by the
surrounding Himalayan landscape.
Mixed-use concept with hotel rooms and luxury villas
Dusit Princess Rishikesh will comprise 300 keys,
including hotel rooms and luxury duplex villas. The property is intended to
serve both leisure and business travellers and will feature a wide range of
facilities, including an all-day dining restaurant, lobby lounge, business
centre, outdoor swimming pool, fitness centre, yoga room and flexible event
spaces.
The project has been planned to integrate with its
natural surroundings while offering a comprehensive hospitality experience in
one of India’s fastest-growing leisure destinations.
Strong focus on wellness and lifestyle experiences
A dedicated clubhouse will further enhance the
resort’s positioning as a wellness and lifestyle destination. Planned
facilities include a spa, infinity pool, restaurant with approximately 250
seats, squash court, mini-plex cinema, bowling alley and various indoor
recreation areas.
The development reflects the growing demand for travel
experiences that combine relaxation, wellness and nature-based activities with
high-quality accommodation and resort amenities.
India remains a strategic growth market
The signing follows the opening of dusitD2 Fagu,
Shimla, in late 2024 and further strengthens Dusit International’s development
pipeline in India.
“India continues to be a strategic growth market for
our company, with strong long-term potential across both gateway cities and
emerging leisure destinations,” said Siradej Donavanik, Vice President –
Development (Global), Dusit International.
“The signing of Dusit Princess Rishikesh reflects our
commitment to growing thoughtfully in India through destinations that align
with evolving traveller trends and owner aspirations. Rishikesh, with its
unique blend of spirituality, wellness, and natural beauty, is an excellent
example of the kind of destination where we believe our brands can create
meaningful and memorable experiences for our guests.”
Partnership targets growing wellness tourism demand
Atmosphere sees the project as a flagship development
that combines luxury hospitality with the increasing appeal of
wellness-oriented travel.
“We are delighted to collaborate with Dusit
International for this landmark hospitality development in Rishikesh,” said
Sanchit Jain, Chairman and Managing Director of Atmosphere.
“The vision for Atmosphere has always been to create
destination-led experiences that combine luxury, wellness and nature in a
meaningful way. With Dusit’s globally recognised hospitality expertise and
strong wellness-driven approach, we are confident that Dusit Princess Rishikesh
will emerge as a distinguished retreat for travellers seeking immersive and
elevated stay experiences in Uttarakhand.”
With wellness tourism continuing to gain momentum
across Asia, the project highlights the growing interest among international
hotel groups in destinations that combine nature, spirituality and
experience-led travel.
