Hilton has opened three hotels at Barr Al Jissah, one
of Oman’s most distinctive waterfront destinations, marking a significant
milestone for tourism along the country’s coastline. Set between the dramatic
cliffs of Al Jissah and the Gulf of Oman, the properties combine
family-friendly resort concepts, large-scale event facilities and high-end
luxury experiences within a single integrated destination.
Owned by The Zubair Corporation and located around 40
minutes from Muscat International Airport, the openings signal a new phase of
development for Barr Al Jissah as a world-class hospitality hub.
“As Oman’s travel and tourism sector continues to
thrive, we are proud to open these three hotels at Barr Al Jissah – the
country’s iconic seaside destination,” said Guy Hutchinson, President, Middle
East & Africa, Hilton. He noted that the collaboration supports Oman’s
Vision 2040 goal of attracting 11 million visitors annually while driving
sustainable growth in the sector.
Niels Bormans, Group Chief Executive Officer of The
Zubair Corporation, described the launch as a milestone for both Barr Al Jissah
and Oman’s hospitality industry, emphasizing the shared commitment to quality,
long-term value creation and talent development in line with Vision 2040.
Three hotels, distinct identities
Each of the three hotels at Barr Al Jissah offers a
clearly defined yet complementary experience.
Al Husn Hotel Muscat delivers an elevated luxury
concept inspired by Omani heritage. The property features 180 rooms and suites,
all with uninterrupted views of the Gulf of Oman, and is designed to evoke the
presence of an Omani fort overlooking the coastline. Targeted at couples,
honeymooners and travelers seeking privacy and tranquility, the hotel offers
exclusive amenities including a private beach, an infinity pool and a spa.
Following planned renovations in 2027, the hotel is set to be rebranded as a Waldorf
Astoria.
Hilton Muscat Al Bandar serves as the destination’s
lifestyle and business hub. With 198 guest rooms, a lively poolside atmosphere
and a range of restaurants and lounges, the hotel also features extensive
indoor and outdoor event facilities. These include a ballroom for up to 850
guests, large outdoor event areas and a dedicated amphitheater, positioning the
property as a leading venue for weddings, conferences and large-scale events.
DoubleTree by Hilton Muscat Al Waha focuses on a
relaxed, family-oriented resort experience, welcoming guests with the brand’s
signature chocolate chip cookie. The resort offers 302 spacious rooms and
suites, with architecture inspired by the layout of a traditional Omani
village. Multiple swimming pools, a waterslide and access to shared facilities
across Barr Al Jissah make it particularly suited to family holidays.
Shared resort amenities along the coast
All three hotels share the extensive leisure and
recreational facilities of the Barr Al Jissah complex, enabling a seamless
guest experience across the destination. Amenities include several swimming
pools, tennis courts, a lazy river and more than 500 meters of private
beachfront. Water sports such as kayaking and diving are available, supported
by a PADI-certified dive centre catering to all skill levels.
Wellness offerings span two spa concepts: The Spa,
with treatments inspired by Omani rose, and Luban Spa, which incorporates
frankincense into its signature therapies.
Hilton Honors at the core
The three hotels are part of Hilton Honors, Hilton’s
global loyalty programme. Members who book directly gain access to benefits
such as flexible Points-and-cash payment options, exclusive discounts, free
standard Wi-Fi and the Hilton Honors mobile app. Stays can be booked via
Hilton’s official channels, with Points redemption available through the Points
Explorer tool.
