IHG Hotels & Resorts is expanding its Luxury &
Lifestyle presence in Egypt with the signing of Hotel Indigo Cairo New
Administrative Capital. The management agreement with JADEER GROUP предусматриces the development of a 140-key hotel within a
mixed-use project in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital. The property is
scheduled to open in 2033.
Strategic focus on Egypt’s emerging urban hub
The planned Hotel Indigo will be positioned to serve
demand from the New Capital’s growing business, governmental and residential
sectors. Located east of Greater Cairo, the New Administrative Capital is being
developed as a smart, master-planned city with modern infrastructure,
diplomatic districts, premium residential areas and large-scale commercial
projects.
The city is designed to function as Egypt’s future
administrative and commercial centre, supported by expanding transport links
and a growing portfolio of retail, cultural and lifestyle developments.
Lifestyle brand aligned with destination profile
Haitham Mattar, Managing Director, India, Middle East
& Africa, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said: “Egypt continues to be a priority
market for IHG, and the New Capital represents a significant opportunity as the
country’s future administrative and business hub. Hotel Indigo is particularly
well suited to this evolving urban environment, offering a lifestyle-led
experience that resonates with both business and leisure travellers. We are
pleased to build on our partnership with JADEER GROUP and further strengthen our
presence in this important destination.”
Mahmoud Abou Al Khair, Chairman of JADEER GROUP,
added: “Our continued collaboration with IHG reflects our confidence in their
global expertise and strong brand portfolio. Following the signing of Hotel
Indigo New Cairo, our partnership with IHG for Hotel Indigo Cairo New
Administrative Capital is a strategic addition that aligns with our vision to
develop distinctive, mixed-use destinations. We believe the brand’s focus on
design, culture, and neighbourhood storytelling will resonate strongly within
the New Capital.”
Continuity of partnership and pipeline expansion
The signing follows the announcement of Hotel Indigo
New Cairo in September of the previous year and reinforces the ongoing
collaboration between IHG and JADEER GROUP. The project also complements IHG’s
existing pipeline in the New Capital, which includes InterContinental, Crowne
Plaza and Holiday Inn hotels.
IHG Hotels & Resorts currently operates nine
hotels in Egypt across InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and
Staybridge Suites. The company’s Egyptian development pipeline comprises 23
additional hotels, underscoring its long-term expansion strategy in the market.
Brand concept centred on neighbourhood identity
Hotel Indigo properties are positioned as design-led
lifestyle hotels inspired by their immediate surroundings. Each hotel reflects
the character, culture and architectural narrative of its neighbourhood. The
Cairo New Administrative Capital property is expected to incorporate locally
inspired design elements and experiences aligned with the destination’s
evolving urban identity.
