Yalago: latest trends with German travellers
In 2024 to date, compared to the same time in 2023,
the Yalago team has witnessed a 39% increase in bookings with German
travellers, while the number of room nights booked has also grown by 36%. The
ten most popular destinations booked with German travellers via Yalago in 2024
so far include: Spain, Thailand, Egypt, UAE, Indonesia, Turkey, Germany, Italy,
Greece, and the USA, respectively.
In terms of top growth destinations, Yalago has
witnessed a surge in travellers from the German market heading to key
destinations in Asia in 2024 compared to the same time in 2023 since these
countries fully reopened for tourism, including Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia,
and Singapore. Closer to home, Europe continues to prove popular with German
travellers, with Greece topping the charts for destinations in 2024 and showing
a growth of 61% compared to 2023. Other European destinations showing strong growth
include Portugal (up 21%), Turkey (up 25%), and German domestic destinations
(up 270%).
The UAE is also a favourite of the German market,
showing strong growth year on year. Meanwhile, Indian Ocean destinations also
continue to prove a popular growth with German holiday makers seeking an
idyllic island escape with Mauritius, Maldives, and Zanzibar all in the top 20
destinations for 2024 so far. Seychelles is experiencing strong growth in
particular, up 215% on 2023.
